First, I would just like to congratulate everyone who participated in this year’s Establishment of the House of Learning Literary Agon. I was really impressed not only with the quantity of submissions received but the high quality of each of them. I am also very happy with the participation of my readers here who had the difficult duty of voting. I’ve organized these kinds of events before, and not had such solid participation on both ends. So thank you guys!
Without further ado …
In the category of Poetry our winner this year was Jennifer Lawrence whose piece First Meeting received 29.31% of the votes!
In the category of Story our winner was Laura M. LaVoie whose piece The Brewer received 87.1% of the votes!
Huzzah to the both of you!
Now I’d like to take a moment and personally thank the other participants. It was a very close race with the top contender constantly changing – I really had no idea who was going to win this one!
So let us honor:
Dean Johnson for You Must Have Wept
P. Sufenas Virius Lupus for Dionysos Polieus
Kerian Nox for The Maddening Night
Galina Krasskova for Approaching Dionysus
Kenn Payne for Celebrating Dionysos
D. L. Wood for The Vision
Huzzah to you all! May Dionysos be pleased by your efforts!
Oh, if any of your are bloggers please let us know!
I really enjoyed a few of the pieces, and I’d love to see what other writing you guys do!
Congratulations to the winners, and many thanks to the people who entered!
There really was some fantastic work that came out of this!
Several of them are bloggers. Hopefully they’ll stop by and comment.
I have a blog (obviously linked via this comment) where some of my poetry is posted, but overall the blog itself is just used for the Dedicant Path work for the ADF. I don’t have a general blog just for poetry, alas. Maybe I should start one.
